This is eastern Colorado, the frozen plains. It is NOT Antarctica. It was so cold, that Picasso, our roving reporter, didn't want to get out of the car for his photo op!
Here is Picasso, pretending he's a prairie dog in the "frozen tundra" in the middle of Kansas!
Picasso is thinking of an excuse as to why he did NOT do his business in the "frozen tundra" after being given an ample amount of time and privacy. I think his butt froze to the ground when he sat down :-)
As we continued to drive across Kansas, the weather was warmer and there was no more snow. And, we were constantly reminded of how much "God Loves Us" and to "Trust in Jesus" by all the billboard signs along the freeway. And several of these "Jesus" signs were placed right next to the "Adult Superstore" billboard signs! Here's a funny thing we saw along the way...
This was an actual big-rig on posts!!!
We finally reached our destination in Lawrence, Kansas...Brian's Alma Mater, University of Kansas (KU). It was such a pleasant afternoon with no more snow! We walked all over campus while Brian pointed out all the different buildings, including where he lived on campus. Picasso had a blast walking around on the grass, chasing squirrels and meeting all the students. And he pooped on campus, too!
Picasso thinks he's a KU Jayhawk (he's cuter, though)!
We finished off the day with a spectacular dinner at Teller's on Massachusetts St. The atmosphere, service and food were exceptional. Oh, and Massachusetts St. is such a FUN street -- lots of different shops and restaurants. (Note: cool street, named after a cool state).
