Good-bye, friends...

Yesterday was bittersweet... we finally embarked on our cross-country trip to our new home in Florida, and we sadly said good-bye to some dear friends.  Brian and I had a wonderful brunch with Ivy, Jacques & Eva (Picasso's auntie, uncle and cousin) before Picasso said good-bye to his best friend Bryson (Eva's brother).

Here is Bryson (left) and Picasso (right) hanging out for the last time before Picasso leaves.  Bryson doesn't seem too happy about the news of Picasso's departure.

Picasso is giving Bryson a good-bye hug and reassuring him that they will see each other again in the not-too-distant future.
Bryson is hopeful, but a bit skeptical...

Picasso is all packed up and ready to go...except he wishes that Bryson could accompany him on this roadtrip.

Our first stop was Reno, NV, where we had a fun dinner with very dear friends (including Brian's college buddy, Jack).  It was great to spend some time with Jack, Lynn, Joel & Jen as we headed east.  Reno is not too shabby...had some really good sushi and then chilled out at a hip bar, St. James Infirmary (I know, bizarre name). We crashed at Jack's very cool, uber-modern pad that he designed & built (wish I thought to take photos of it).

Here's a pic of Brian and Jack (Brian's college buddy) standing in front of a coffee house that Jack designed (he's a talented and well-known architect in Reno).  We were glad to spend some time with Jack before taking off this morning.

It was a loooong day on the road, and Picasso handled it with a great attitude!  We arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah tonite... it was later than we expected, especially due to losing an hour (we're on Mountain Time).  Chilly, but refreshing weather.  We had a nice dinner, and now we look forward to a good night's sleep...
